Imagine an era in which truly awesome workplaces are the norm. Where people are treated as dusts of gold by their employers. Where workplaces are fun, inspiring hives of innovation, in which people can thrive in their own quests, and business productivity, growth, profits and shareholder returns multiply on their efforts.

These places do exist. A few anyway. The majority however are yearning for answers, help and best-practice proven strategies. And given that we have run and consulted to many businesses, public, private, small and large, in 5 nations, for over a decade, we have a lot of practical solutions. There is so much noise, function and dysfunction going on out there in the world of HR and People management, that it’s almost impossible to get a grip on real ‘People’ solutions that actually do produce great outcomes.

Through this medium, Wicked Workplaces, we will be drawing on all the awesome, interesting and absurd things that companies are doing in the workplaces of the world today. We will have spies out everywhere, telling us what’s going on. We will be detailing our own experiences with various corporations, wins, stuff-ups and all, as we go. And as businesses cut a swath through the forests of HR, we want to follow, look, laugh, listen and learn.

Our books, blogs, banter, research, consulting assignments and occasional raging at the news are all about helping to create great businesses by applying awesome people strategies. We will be current, topical, a little silly, highly irreverent, and throw some bricks at the windows of convention. We will always seek to provide solutions that owners, managers, CEOs and HR strategists can use.
